Product Description
Character Traits RL 3.3 RL4.3: A highly engaging task card center activity and more! Good readers must pay close attention to what a character says, thinks or does in order to determine which character traits best describe that character. This task card center is designed with the intention of providing opportunities for students to practice their inferencing skills while learning essential character trait vocabulary.

While engaged in this activity, students will read each text, make inferences based on the conversation, and determine the character trait that best represents the text by matching each with a character trait card.

Included are 20 matches within this resource. For struggling readers, two sets of 10 matches are provided so that this activity may be modified. There is also an extension activity included, so students can apply their knowledge of the character trait vocabulary.

*****************************************************************************
This resource includes:

✔ One Character Traits Poster (organized so that opposite traits are adjacent from each other for students' easy reference) This is helpful, especially with characters in fables.
* This poster is similar to the one found in my RL3.3 Toolkit

✔ 20 Cell phone text cards

✔ 20 Emoji trait cards with definitions

✔ Center task activity directions

✔ Student answer sheets

✔ Keys to answer sheets

✔ Two sets of 10 cell phone text cards and trait cards (same as the 20 card set, but modified into 2 small color coded sets for struggling readers)

✔ An extension activity to help students apply their knowledge of trait vocabulary: Students choose a trait and write their own text conversation to represent that trait.

Note: The trait cards can also be used as a year-long resource if laminated and placed on a ring for student reference. This can assist them with any character trait activity done in the classroom.
