This product was made for fourth and fifth graders, but would be great for grades 3-8.
This product is meant to build students' vocabulary and help them build a deeper understanding of characters. In our classroom, we display one trait a day (or whenever we can) and we talk about its definition and words with a similar meaning. We also discuss characters we know of that match that trait. We then decide if the trait is a positive or negative trait. We record it on chart paper that is displayed as well as in our journals. If we think the trait is neither positive nor negative, we place it under the "neither" section of the chart. As we read novels and stories throughout the year, we complete character trait pages using the words we have learned.
This product includes:
*Trait a Day labels for the classroom display
*112 character traits for display with definitions and a list of synonyms
*Sorting chart for all traits as well as a key
*4 boy and 4 girl character trait pages for students to fill out on a given character (color and black and white options available)
