Character Traits: Character trait activity. This activity can be used with any fiction story you choose that contains characters. Students can choose a character from a story, describe the character using adjectives, complete a graphic organizer that requires students to locate text evidence, and locate details to support and answer a question that requires close analytic reading. This activity can be used in a whole group classroom lesson, for enrichment, or in a literature center. You can use stories in your anthology, novels, or picture books. I have used this activity in my own class to teach character traits, supplement my anthology stories, and prepare for PARCC assessments. The students really benefited from this used in a guided activity. Made for upper elementary and middle school levels.
