Since describing a character in depth is one of the CCSS, I created this product to use in my classroom to assess student mastery of this concept. Brain-based teaching supports the use of choice boards as a motivational instructional strategy to increase student learning because students love choices. They feel empowered when they have a say in how they demonstrate what they know.
The choice board can be used in many ways:
- Laminate the choice board and use as a center activity
- Use in literature circles/book clubs and have students record answers on the provided foldable, and glue them into interactive notebook.
- Use with technology - give the students the choice board and how them respond to the questions in Google Classroom, Kidblog, etc.
There are 3 different choice boards: one with a rubric, one with an editable rubric, and one without a rubric.
