This packed resource will assist your young learners in exploring character traits. Included are many activities, including partner, small and whole group, and homework ideas. Students will learn about personality (inside) and physical (outside) traits and learn to differentiate between the two. Students will look at evidence to support their choices. All the activities are fun, engaging, and sure to be a classroom pleaser!

~3 Character Traits Anchor Charts: provided in a color display option and student black and white copies

~What are Character Traits? Student Reader: a half-page booklet in a question and answer format that breaks down a difficult topic in kid-friendly language

~Character Traits A to Z Word Keeper: A mini-book set up alphabetically for students to keep track of new vocabulary and traits they learn throughout the unit

~Outside Traits Photo Cards: a set of photo cards that students will observe and record the outside traits they see

~Guess My Trait Game: Using a cool poster, students will choose a trait card and draw the facial expression on the poster. Others will try to guess the trait.

~Meet Students of Room 201: a set of character passage cards that students will read and determine both inside and outside traits on a recording sheet

~Inside Traits Sticky-Note Sort: (directions are given on how to print on sticky-notes)
Students will sort their sticky notes into groups of actions, thoughts, words, or feelings to make a whole class anchor chart

~Inside vs. Outside Trait Sort: students will sort the trait cards into inside or outside trait groups; a recording sheet is provided

~Character Study: after reading a story you select, students will choose a character and make a character study booklet, recording many aspects of their character

~What's My Trait Charades: given a trait slip, students will act out the trait. Others will try to guess the trait

~Enrichment Printables: a set of printables to use for small or whole group work and/or homework
