This is a very cool way to take notes in Science class. I have set up the notes for the students using Cornell Note Taking style. To the left is a column where students will scribe the 7 Characteristics of Life. To the right is a column where fill in the blank notes can be taking giving examples and important concepts of the 7 Characteristics of Life. These notes can be used on a document writer or your projector but they also coincide to my Characteristics of Life Interactive Power Point presentation. I find my students work really well and pay attention when I have helped them fill in their notes. Finally, at the bottom of the page the student will summarize, in paragraph form, what they have learned about the 7 Characteristics of Life. They can use this sheet to complete worksheets and for review. This type of format can also be used to make a claim, back it up with evidence, and justify your argument with reasoning. Claim, Evidence, and Reasoning is currently a very important writing strategy for S.T.E.M objectives.
