Students select a character from a book or novel they are currently reading. This could also be done with historical figures from nonfiction works. They will create a drawing of the character and include specific information within the character's heart, spine, hands, thought bubble and speech bubble. This is a great way to quickly and creatively reinforce what students have read and make them think about characterization.
This is suitable for any grade level and can be adapted to fit quality standards of that grade.
