Despite the less-than-creative name, this document is so much more than a graphic organizer. Help your students deeply analyze characters by bringing together all the components of characterization. On the first side, students will take notes about the character's physical description, actions, words and thoughts, as well as what other characters say about them. Students will then analyze all the information they gathered and identify 3 specific traits that pertain to the character. Finally, students will synthesize all that they know about the character in order to write a descriptive paragraph about the character.
This can be used with ANY TEXT. It also asks students to cite evidence from the text and analyze how characters affect the story as states the Common Core.
