Product Description
This 5-day unit has everything you need to teach characterization in a fresh and relevant way that students will love! I don't know about you, but I feel like we do students a disservice if we teach them English in a vacuum. I don't want them just describing characters...I want them to understand HOW and WHY we characterize people in both the real-world and in literature. This unit aims to do just that with a series of lessons and activities that incorporate fiction (Roald Dahl's wonderfully creepy, "The Landlady") and nonfiction (an excerpt exploring the impact of the Internet on identity). By the end of the unit, students will be able to analyze people and characters using the STEAL method while considering important real-world questions about what forms our identities.
