This will save so much time on essay grading/student feedback! The rubric scores the essay by paragraph (intro, body, conclusion) on a 4 point scale (0-4) but also allow space for letter or numeric grades (based on a 0-100 scale). The rubric offers general information regarding the standards/requirements for each score (0-4). Additionally, for each paragraph there is a "checklist" which the teacher can use to give students feedback regarding what they are doing well, as well as areas for improvement. This checklist is comprised of both the elements required for good writing, as well as some of the most common mistakes that students make in essays. This saves so much time because it eliminates the need to write comments and corrections on every student essay. It's a definite time saver, and is a great tool for feedback, revising/editing, and conferencing.
