Myth Character Analysis and Themed Writing Paper

    Description

This unit includes 32 one-page passages, corresponding themed research sheets, a colorful poster set, and two opinion writing activities. Your third and fourth grade students will love learning about characters from myths! If you're looking for similar activities geared toward older students, try this bundle.

    What’s Included

    • 32 one-page passages (color PDF, black and white PDF, and eBook) – Created for upper elementary students, each page provides introductory information about the character, as well as one or more myth. Allusions are built into the text, and a one-page reference guide is included.
    • 33 Greek mythology research sheets (PDF or Easel Activities) – Ask your students to research one or more character. After they color the pictures, hang for a beautiful classroom display – or bind to create a collaborative book (cover sheet included).
    • Research sheet answers
    • 36 colorful Greek mythology posters
    • Two argumentative writing activities (PDF or Easel Activities) - Two one-paragraph activities ask students to write opinion (first person) and persuasive (second person) pieces about characters from myths. As they focus on structure, word choice, and transitions, students' skills as authors blossom.
    • Bonus file – Lesson plans, five character analysis pages (archetype character analysis, guided response sheet, Venn diagram, response sheet, and a fun social media post). In addition, you will receive a set of character-themed stationery (lined and unlined).
