Are you looking for a way to integrate art into your science classroom? How about science into your art classroom? Look no further! I have created an easy lesson that can be taught by either the science teacher or the art teacher to collaborate and contain both ideas.
This is a 3 page worksheet I created for my 7th grade students after they learned about the theories of Charles Darwin with evolution and natural selection.
The first page gives a general overview into who Charles Darwin is, what is natural selection and evolution, and then a description of the art project. The second page provides a section for students to sketch their animals ideas. The concept is that they come up with an animal that has developed overtime to develop near genes, traits or features to survive in the current conditions. The example I gave was that a whale originally developed and evolved over time from a land animal.
The sketch boxes give students ample space to draw out their ideas. At the end, students are asked to creatively reflect on their experience on page three.
All together there is a writing portion, a science aspect and an art portion. The best of three worlds! Enjoy ~Art by Aubry
