This a viewing guide for “A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving.” This would be appropriate to use with students 5th – 9th grade.
I have used this in my 8th grade classroom to review inferences, cause and effect, tone, character, vocabulary, etc.
This has 16 questions and 4 writing prompts.
Two previewing questions ask the students to look up unknown vocabulary used in the movie. These words will be used in later questions about character.
There are several questions that ask about why the characters behave in certain ways. There are also questions that ask students to evaluate the characters actions. There are a few questions that discuss cause and effect.
At the end of the viewing guide there are 4 writing prompts. Two are “literature response types” that ask short answer questions and ask the students to respond using text evidence. There are two additional writing prompts that ask about the student’s feelings about Thanksgiving and what they are thankful for having in their lives.
