Product Description
This day's lesson is part of an original unit I created on New England authors; I only need to find the right file folder, and this might take some doing. Oh, a teacher's plight. An introduction to Charlotte Perkins GIlman, best know for her short story, "The Yellow Wallpaper," and her women's rights' advocacy in the late 18th century. Her life and times are introduced, a connection to others before her when teaching this lesson as part of a whole, women's rights, the "rest cure" for depression then, mental illness today...the list goes on. Descriptive language, figurative language, visualization, conflict in all of its incarnations, "The Yellow Wallpaper" is layered with possibilites. This is a nice introduction that can be expanded on for your own purposes. Enjoy and best, Rockermom
