Free Resource- only available in the Bundle! The resource is called "If Fern had Facebook." This resource comes in two formats: as a pennant to display in your classroom and also as an 8x11 piece of paper. This activity is a super cute way to have your students examine Fern and create her profile, her friends list and to draw pictures of what she would have on her Facebook page!
This packet can be used for upper grades. The questioning delves further into the character's motivations and feelings. For example: What does Uncle represent? He represents jealousy. It is the first time that Wilbur is meeting another pig, up until this point he has been raised by a girl and a spider. He compares himself to Uncle and so do the rest of the humans, except for Mr. Zuckerman. He believes in his famous pig and begins to see that Wilbur is terrific, radiant and humble because of the suggestion from Charlotte. It is true, "People almost always believe what they see in print."
