The Catcher in the Rye is a portrait of a teen in crisis. Over the course of a few days Holden has many interactions and experiences that reveal his character and his complex internal conflicts which focus on life, death, growing up, relationships, and the meaning of it all. This mini-unit provides a framework to explore, discuss, visualize, and write about these essential elements.
