Fun activity based on the novel by Blue Balliett. There are 32 words for students to find. These are important words from the book, with which students should be familiar for comprehension, analysis, and discussion of it.
Students will enjoy this activity. In addition to finding words in the grid, students are asked to write a sentence about each word (showing their understanding of the word, or its importance in the novel). This helps students reinforce their understanding and spelling of key vocabulary.
This is the type of resource that could be used as a homework assignment, for a substitute teacher, or as class work on occasions when you need a filler, and have nothing prepared. My students love this type of activity, and none sees it as work.
The solution is included.
