School Counselors know that it's next to impossible to run a full group during the typical 30 minute lunch bunch. By the time you gather up your students and their lunches from the cafeteria, you've got about 20 minutes left! Add to that the fact that they also have to EAT, it's very difficult to get good content covered. That's why I've come up with a Chat-n-Chew series ... quick, lunch bunch style small groups designed to be completed within a 20 minute time period. This group is 4 sessions designed for 3rd grade girls, but is VERY adaptable. Topics include:

• Listening to our body (identifying worry)
• Feeling worried is ok (positive self talk)
• Calming our worries (deep breathing)
• Working it out (get physical)

Each session includes an icebreaker, a "Dear Diary" letter presenting that session's topic, discussion points, solutions, and a wrap up. A few supplemental materials are included as well.
