Let's go on a pilgrimage! This is a post-reading activity for Geoffery Chaucer's famous novel The Canterbury Tales.
To help students understand the concept of a pilgrimage and review the plot of the text, I created an activity in which students go on their own pilgrimage around campus to determine information about my pilgrimage - where did I go, who accompanied me, and what item did I bring with me. Teachers and other faculty (you decide) will serve as possible companions and students must answer multiple questions about the text in order to gather clues and figure out the correct answers. This activity comes with a student handout (explaining the activity), a handout for the teachers (explaining their role in the activity), as well as all of the questions and answers needed to complete this activity. This interactive activity really made my students take an active part in their learning and increased comprehension as well as analysis of the text (not to mention it also made learning fun)! This is a great way to get members of campus involved - including administration! I also have other items for sale dealing with this text.
