Welcome to my store - To the Core and More!
My hope is that both handouts will help to make the teacher inquiry process less overwhelming and more accessible to teachers and teacher-coaches.
Both cheat sheets outline the steps to teacher inquiry used to gain insight into a student and his/her work, as well as your own teaching practices.
The entire process takes 40 minutes total - allowing for no more than 10 minutes per step.
The collaborative inquiry process can be used with a partner, a group, a teacher-coach, or modified to be used independently for SLO goals.
Use the collaborative handout with a grade-level or subject-specific colleague, with a teacher and IEP teacher combo, with a group of colleagues, or with a teacher-coach.
The independent inquiry process allows you to determine a student's present level of work and a starting place to gather teaching strategies to use with student.
Use with your Student Learning Outcome project before and after teaching to determine evidence of student growth and reflect on or adjust teaching strategies.
Both inquiry processes address the Danielson model in terms of knowledge of students, teaching strategies, professional development and collaboration with colleagues, and self-reflection.
Both inquiry processes address the needs of teachers during the Student Learning Outcome project.
