There are six big checks that are included in this file. The main check mark lists just the question words (who, what, where, when, why) and the other check marks have actual questions on characters. I have found that some of my students have a very hard time creating a question with just a question word (such as 'what?'). Thus I made a check mark for each question. I slowly take the easy question check marks away and eventually they start using the question word bookmark on their own and come up with their own great questions!
These check marks are to be used with buddy reading or just when students are reading to self. You may print a few out to put at the buddy reading center and/or also give one to each of student to use when reading to self.
When using during Read to Someone/Buddy Reading the student who is listening to the book should hold the book mark(s), and then the buddy reading may ask questions once they are finished reading - they may also have a bookmark(s) or take it from the listener - your choice.
My class loves using these while they are buddy reading or reading to themselves. It really helps the students come up with questions to ask and starts great discussions!
I would recommend printing on card stock and then laminating.
