What can you do in urban, suburban, and rural communities?
In this project, students are given the opportunity to learn about and then share their knowledge of urban, suburban, and rural communities with individuals who are new to the state.
Students demonstrate application through the creation of a map, graph, and activity posters. Throughout this process, students make comparisons between the different communities in terms of population, space, land use, and transportation. There are multiple opportunities for inquiry, problem solving, cooperative strategies, as well as reflection and revision.
