Students perform typical examples of synthesis, decomposition, single and double replacement, combustion, and acid base reactions in a six station lab experiment. Student instructions include safety information and requires students to write balanced equations for each reaction they observe. Answer Key and teacher notes included.
Standard lab equipment is required for this activity, as well as the following chemicals: HCl, NH4OH, phenolphthalein, Mg ribbon, ethanol, baking soda, mossy zinc, KI, Pb(NO3)2, and litmus paper.
Link to online video makeup lab included - I use this so absent students can complete the activity from home, allowing me to clean up the lab that day rather than leave chemicals out in my room.
