With this handout, students will review counting atoms, writing chemical formulas, balancing equations, and identifying chemical reactions. This could be used as a study guide or as an assessment. Students should know how to count atoms using subscripts, coefficients, and parentheses. Students should also know how to write chemical formulas. Students will practice balancing equations and identifying them as synthesis, decomposition, single-displacement, or double-displacement. Students will be asked to draw creative pictures on this assignment as they create metaphors for the different types of reactions. There are seven test prep questions on this handout.
