What is this?
A group investigative activity on exploring the principles and methods of writing electron configuration.
There is 1 puzzle with 3 words that can be spelled out by the using Element symbols that are associated by electron configurations.
Along with the puzzle, there are 7 clues that introduce and explain the various aspects of writing electron configurations.
The clues should be sufficient in allowing the students to figure out the puzzle.
How to use this?
You can use a large group and provide each student with 1 clue and they have to read and interact with others, or break into smaller groups of 2-3 and give the entire clue package to the students to figure out.
The students who enjoy solving puzzles will benefit in this task as it provides an investigative environment. As for students who will need a jump start, direct them to the example clue where they can see how the examples relate to the electron configurations.
