Two very simple hands-on laboratory activities - using iron (steel wool) and copper turnings. Each substance is examined before burning and the descriptions are written into an observation table. While the substances are being burned in the Bunsen burner, observations are taken. Once the reaction is complete, observations are taken again. The analysis questions asks students to write the balanced chemical equation for each reaction. Extra questions are added for review. Great Friday activity!
