Students will research a chemical process or set of products and present their findings about how the product is made, used, and implications (personal and environmental health concerns from production and use, why we need it), including how the item or process relates to their future beyond high school and topics we covered in class. General idea is for student groups of 2-4 to each make and present a mini-catalog of their chemical products based on a common theme. Students choosing the process option can divide the work up themselves or following teacher direction. Used as a final project for HS general and honors chemistry at a school for vocational students. Includes topic ideas, rubric, guiding questions, and student work example (group theme: anesthetics, each student researched one substance).
