This is a great STEM practical laboratory for anyone teaching Gas Laws in chemistry.
The Gas laws are often taught by each of that laws being separate and having students complete worksheets after worksheets on the gas laws, but what is needed in chemistry is for students to understand the theory conceptually and apply their knowledge.
This is a laboratory / inquiry project where, instead of teaching the gas laws separately and explicitly, the students are provided with all of the gas laws and their relationships, and have to design an experiment to prove the law's relationships.
I have had students use bell jars, balloons, tape measures, hot and cold environments etc... This experiment gets the students to think critically on their design.
