Chem Quint-a-sense is an interactive
series of mini-lessons in which students are given an audio-visual treat that is followed by a second treat that can be touched, tasted, and smelled! Each mini-lesson can be implemented at any point, but topics do grow and provide a fun supplement to the school year.
This product is a chronological bundle of the weeks 1-18 in the Chem Quint-a-sense series
. The bundle offers a discount and makes semester long organization for the mini-lessons easy.
WHAT WILL I GET WITH THIS PRODUCT?
This download is the entire Semester 1 bundle and contains weeks 1-18 of the Chemistry Quint-a-sense mini-lessons
While each mini-lesson is designed to fit best at a certain point on the calendar, each lesson can also be implemented at any time.
You will get 18 sharable mini-lessons, enough to conduct an average of 1 a week for the whole semester. The mini-lessons can be presented over the course of 5-15 minutes each, and remembered for years, depending upon your audience.
Buyer Beware: Students and teachers may unintentionally learn or review or apply real chemistry concepts. There are no explicit lesson goals or specific test questions chained to the mini-lesson. Utilizing the mini-lesson & treat within your classroom may also lighten the mood and introduce some fun into your classroom. As the catalyst for learning in your own classroom these are intended to be a supplement to what you have/are/will be teaching in your own classroom. An experienced Chemistry teacher will have no trouble posing questions relevant to their own classroom goals/skills and conducting formative assessment to check for understanding of past or concurrent topics or even gauging understanding for future topics. Each mini-lesson comes with three sharing formats: Smart notebook, PowerPoint, and PDF.
Note: You will need to obtain the sharable treat for each lesson separately! ;)
IDEAS FOR USE:
Although the mini-lessons in this series occasionally tie in with the calendar and build progressively upon each other, each mini-lesson is also self standing and can be used completely independently.
Suggested ideas for use:
1) In the original "once per week" chronological order.
2) As a fun "change of pace", whenever needed.
3) As a "hook" for the start of a chapter, Unit, or lesson.
4) As a "reward" for participation, attendance, or test average
5) In a "continuous series" to start each day or lesson in a particular unit of study or month.
