A brief description of Rutherford's experiment.
* Information 2
A schematic of Rutherford's experimental setup.
* Rough Simulation
A simulation that illustrates how moving particles hitting a stationary wall of particles would behave as the particles get smaller.
* Results
Graphics of the results of various sizes of particles from the simulation illustrate the results obtained by Rutherford. The question is asked about how the simulation was different from the actual experiment.
* The Actual Experiment
The differences are listed.
* Questions
Students are asked a number of questions. For example, how many atoms thick was the gold foil?
* Answers
Answers to the questions along with the calculations.
