This is the first powerpoint I present in my introductory chemistry course. It introduces science as a process; my course is lab intensive, so students learn early on how science is done. Rather than focusing on a rigid set of steps, this powerpoint introduces how the "scientific method" can be applied to various problems. The powerpoint contains 23 slides, and introduces variables (independent and dependent), constants, predictions versus hypotheses, precision and accuracy, and theory vs. law.
This download contains a powerpoint presentation (.ppt) and a 4 question quiz (5-10 minute) to be given after the topic is complete.
