Chesed is Hebrew for "kindness." The Chesed Challenge Board is a great activity to get kids thinking about acts of kindness they can do!
Children fill out an everyday act of kindness they could do, in each of the squares of the board. (This part of the activity gets them brainstorming, and thinking critically about the theme. This is also a great time to have kids work collaboratively in groups, to come up with ideas together.)
Children then take the Chesed Challenge Boards home, and try to do the acts of kindness written on their boards. After completing a kind act, they color in the square of that action on their boards. When they get four colored squares in a row, it's a "Chesed Bingo!"
Children can then bring in their boards to share their "Chesed Bingo," and explain what they did for each square they colored in.
This is a fun and meaningful way to keep an ongoing dialogue running about kindness, over the course of a full week (or for however long your kindness theme lasts!).
