Melanie Watt's Chester book is my students' all-time favorite read aloud. Every year, after I read the book, my students like to create their own version of the Chester book so I decided to give them a template.
Give this short book called "Charlie" to each of your students, along with a red pen, and allow them to BE CHESTER. Have them write what Chester would write! Don't forget to warn them not to be inappropriate or mean.
Student will learn point-of-view and characterization through this fun, silly activity.
