This is a MUST for time management in my classroom! I use this for both Daily 5 and math centers and my students love it! I have 4 different ones on here (20 minutes, 15 minutes, 12 minutes, and 10 minutes) to fit the needs of your classroom. If you need a different length, please message me and I will make one for you!
Each center slide is 1 minute and the slides change automatically. After the last slide passes, the slide with Clean Up Round __ comes on the screen for 20 seconds to allow your students time to clean their area. It plays High School Musical's "We're All In This Together" song and pauses itself after the 20 seconds is over. When it is time to clean up the next time, the song picks up right where it left off. The next slide asks the students if they are ready for the next round. This slide is 45 seconds and gives you a chance to read the choice board and talk about where each student is going. These repeats for all 5 rounds. If these times are not long enough or too short, you can click to move to the next slide. If you have less than five rounds, you can just close out of it when you are finished. I have had different timers in the past, but I made this one for several reasons. I had a normal timer, but with students arriving late to school or going in and out of the classroom they were out of the loop on which round we were on. This allows all students to always know which round we are in. I have also had one where the circle got smaller when it was closer to clean up time. A lot of my students had difficulty being able to tell how much time was actually left. With the numbers on the screen, the students know exactly how much time remains in each round. For Daily 5, I use the 15 minute timer and for math centers, I use the 10 minute timer. I hope you and your students enjoy this timer as much as my students and I do!
