If you have used my resources for the first six chapters of the book this one will give your students a little variety. The nature of the "Big" chapter is less about noticing important details as in a typical nonfiction/informational text study. Rather it is an excellent opportunity to examine the life choices of others and the results that may follow. Therefore, this chapter guides students through writing higher-level thinking questions and then developing answers to their own questions. An easy modification would be to have them answer one another's questions or compile a class list of questions. Included you will find a higher-level thinking question stem document that is one of my favorite resources.
