Using an ecological example, students create a contingency table, calculate expected frequencies, and calculate Chi2. Next, students are given an 18 count ice cube tray (quadrats) loaded with plain M&Ms. Students go through the process of calculating Chi2 to determine if two "species" of M&Ms have an association.
