In this culminating activity, students try to convince the History Channel to feature Chicago's history in an upcoming special. Students pick three historical events to write about. Students get a choice as to how they want to present their information to the History Channel. I let my students choose between a brochure, a letter, a poster, an essay, a booklet, or a Book Creator book.

Although this project is written to meet the third grade IL Social Studies Standards, it can be adapted for any grade that is learning about Chicago History.
