This Chicken Wing Dissection Lab is a great activity for middle or high school students.

- An introduction with images to compare anatomy of chicken wings and human arms
- Step by step instructions for the dissection, divided into two days (this accommodates 40 min class periods easily)
- Labels to print for each day, color coded

This lab provides hands-on lab experience where students can review types of tissue and learn about integumentary system, skeletal system, muscular system and more. Students can identify differences and similarities between chickens and human. During the lab, students examine specific structures and take pictures with labels to aid in the creation of a final project. Students use probes or toothpicks to point to the structures as they take pictures.
The directions are clear and lead students to create an end-product of a PowerPoint presentation that compiles the images taken during the lab.
