This is a great ongoing project for students to enter fun facts they have learned throughout the course. Students can decorate the first page as their title page. Each day share with students some interesting tidbits that are not necessarily found in your curriculum. For example, a fun fact could be:
The average toddler takes 176 steps a minute…except at bedtime!
I provide them with a paragraph on a fun fact and their job is to summarize it into one sentence to enter into this booklet.
The booklet is a template that needs to be assembled and pages need to be trimmed. There are a total of 11 pages. Because it is layered so you can see the 'tabs' of each page, some pages need to be trimmed. The pages indicate where it needs to be trimmed and where it needs to be stapled to assemble into a layered booklet. Pages 1 to 8 are to be printed on letter sized paper. Pages 9, 10 and 11 are longer and will need to be printed on legal sized paper.
Titles of each page are in this order:
First page: blank (for a title page)
2nd page: What is Child Development (blank page for drawings and/or text)
3rd page: Conception (blank page with some lines)
4th page: Pregnancy (blank page with some lines)
5th page: Birth (blank page with some lines)
6th page: Newborn (blank page with some lines)
7th page: Infants (blank page with some lines)
8th page: Toddler (blank page with some lines)
9th page: Preschoolers (blank page with some lines)
10th page: School Aged Children (blank page with some lines)
11th page: Other fun facts (blank page with some lines)
This booklet has been arranged so it is `landscape` not portrait. I`ve arranged it this way to allow more room to write text and to allow an area for drawings or pictures.
If you are looking for a layered book with different titles for the tabs, please feel free to contact me.
