Product Description
This activity allows students to experience child labor during the Industrial Revolution through the eyes of the children that worked. First, students are directed to HistoryPlace.com, which exhibits a wide variety of different types of child labor and different places of employment during the Industrial Revolution in the United States. Using the photographs, students have to describe what they see, including both the type of work that the children performed as well as the conditions that they had to work under. Then, students utilize their observations and their notes to write three different journal entries from the first person perspective of three different children who worked in three different fields.
