Product Description
Take your students on an exciting journey to a place they have never been before…medieval Poland. It is a magical land roamed by brave lads, dangerous dragons, and evil demons; where good and bad, joy and tears, black magic and reality all mix together.

This e-book is a compilation of nine most famous Polish legends for children:
1. The Legend of Wawel Dragon
2. The Legend of Brave Wanda
3. The Trumpeter of Krakow
4. How a Poor Peasant Became a King
5. The Flower of Fern
6. The Golden Duck
7. The Legend of Two Towers
8. Mr. Twardowski
9. The Legend of King Popiel and the Mice

Included are also beautiful illustrations done by a Polish artist, Ewa Patalas.

*****************************************************************************
**Note: Some of the legends are slightly on the “dark side” (in the same fashion the King Arthur legends are). Poland is a country with a colorful but turbulent past, which is reflected in its often sad, tragic stories. They all, however, convey deep life lessons that your students will appreciate.

*****************************************************************************
These legends are part of a larger unit:
Common Core close reading: literature passages - Polish legends

If you would like reading comprehension activities along with these stories, then I suggest you purchase the close reading unit, which contains close reading questions as well as lesson plans on how to teach close reading using one of these legends.

Thank you for looking.
