Child's Play Math Unit 2: Cuisenaire Rods and the Traditional Approach to Math

Product Description

Unit 2: Cuisenaire Rods and the Traditional Approach to Teaching Math - The video explains why Cuisenaire Rods, although entirely compatible with any school curriculum, can empower children’s learning in a way traditional approaches can not.

The hands on play based nature of the program enables children to learn the way that suits them best as it embraces all the learning styles. Children using this program invariably acquire an understanding of concepts considered far too difficult for them.

Child's Play Math was originally created to introduce math concepts to young children, from preschool upwards, through play, games, open-ended-tasks, challenges and directed activities. The program utilizes Cuisenaire Rods. However it has been used effectively with children, and adults, of all ages who struggled to grasp math concepts the first time round. It has also proved effective in the context of special needs. Visually impaired children, for example, have no problem accessing the program due to the tactile nature of the rods.
