In life, successful people rely on tools to get things done right. Chill Skills are tools that you can teach your students to use daily that will help them become more mindful, more emotionally and socially astute, and therefore more successful academically. Created by a team of teachers, the attached curriculum is a day to day instructional program to teach your students these these five skills. However, just knowing about them is not enough. We must practice and practice so we become good at using them.
Through adopting Chill Skills, your team can create a nurturing environment where all of our students have the capacity for tolerance. These tools can bring your students skills that they can begin to use on our campus and continue to use forever in life.
Some suggestions for teaching them school-wide are to do so initially in an assembly, and then create time each day during homeroom period, advisory period, etc., to practice them in class.
Please feel free to contact me for more suggestions on implementing these skills as well as testimonials to their effectiveness.
