    Description

This small bundle includes 2 China resources that you can use when teaching about Chinese culture: C is for China, an ABC book about China, and Chinese Zodiac Animals Clipart, a set of 12 pictures of the animals of the Chinese Zodiac. ✓ Please Note:

    * These 2 resources are also available in a money-saving big bundle with 4 other China-themed products, which is available HERE.

C is for China is an "A - Z book," with each letter of the alphabet representing an aspect of Chinese history, geography, or culture and presented on its own page with at least one photograph that supports the text. Also included in the ABC China book are four language activities for students to extend their learning:

    * The 1st activity asks students to identify particular grammar structures,

    * The 2nd activity offers students five questions for discussion or writing responses,

    * The 3rd activity provides a template (in two styles) for writing an acrostic poem about China, and

    * The 4th activity asks students to sort the words presented in the alphabet book into various categories.

C is for China also includes background information for teachers, a list of the ELA Common Core standards addressed in the product, and a pronunciation guide to all the Chinese words in the book. This ABC China book can be used as a read-aloud by a teacher or for independent reading by students, who can read it individually or in small groups or pairs. The text is written at a level that lets older intermediate proficiency level English Language Learners as well as younger native English speakers comprehend it. This product contains 41 pages (including cover and credits pages).

In the Chinese Zodiac Animals Clipart set, the images of the animals come from photographs I took of an artifact I bought in Xi'an, China. Each of the 12 animals is made of cloth and embroidery and is created in a style of folk art common in that part of China. All the images are 300 dpi and in .png format. My easy-to-follow compete Terms of Use are also included. This resource is in a zip file and you just have to click on the zip folder to access all the images and the TOU. This product contains 15 pages (1 page for each animal for a total of 12 pages, the Terms of Use page, plus cover and credits pages).
