To review the events beginning in the early 1970s which led to improved relations between the People’s Republic of China and the U.S. and other Western nations.

The lesson begins by going over a brief introductory paragraph with the class. Students then read through a series of 21 sentences reviewing events starting in the early 1970s that led to improved relations between China and the west. While doing so, class members must unscramble letters to form a key words, names, and terms.
