This is a Powerpoint/Google Slide presentation that is meant for cooperative, student-centered learning in the Social Studies classroom. In this activity, students will use links that are embedded in this presentation to find the answers to questions that are related to China's two major rivers, the Yangtze (Chang) and the Huang He (Yellow). In addition, students will also use the links to gather information about China's northern steppe region.
The presentation is organized in a way that poses questions to students and steers them toward finding their own answers. Once the answers are found, they report out to the whole group (if you wish). Review slides are embedded that summarize what students should have found in their research.
To check for individual student understanding, eight multiple choice questions have been included to assess what basic knowledge students have acquired during the activity.
