Chinese (Mandarin) Classroom Survival Expressions (TOP 50)

Chinese (Mandarin) Classroom Survival Expressions (TOP 50)
Product Description

In my book, the World Language Daily Tech Guide, I show teachers how to increase target language usage in the classroom and improve classroom management.

As seen in the book with the Spanish example, this is the PowerPoint of 58 slides that teach students survival expressions in the classroom in order to ultimately have a Mandarin One class with 90 percent target language usage.

It includes teacher-student, student-teacher, and the most important, student-student expressions as suggested by my students.

You can remove the English as you see fit.

I do not know Mandarin. I had asked one Mandarin Teacher to translate when another volunteered so I had two versions made.

You can see a video of them here on my blog.

This makes sense because whenever I create a slide show, I have at least two teachers who teach that language review what I do, even when it is a language I teach.

Fifteen years ago, I made some Mandarin grouping cards, investing several hundred dollars and about 50 hours of my time. Each Mandarin teacher who saw them had a different criticism, which I would change, and then the next teacher would criticize something else.

I ended up throwing them out because I could never get consensus from the teachers, and the Mandarin teachers couldn’t look past the tiny difference.

So here I am 15 years later, wanting to make Tech Guides for all languages, realizing that I will probably have the same experience. Two wonderful teachers graciously helped me, and I combined their two versions into one PowerPoint so that you can choose from within the slideshow which version best suits you so it is twice as long as the other slide shows.

If you don’t like their Mandarin, send me your version of the slide and I will include it and re-upload it. The idea is for you to have a base to start with and save you time. Please e-mail me directly if you have a difference you feel must be changed, rather than going through the website. My address: mrsshrager@comcast.net .

You may not resell as this is copyrighted material, nor repost it on the internet. Teach your students how to speak to you and one another in the target language and I hope you enjoy this as your students realize how much Mandarin they can understand and use and are inspired to embrace your class.
