What do you know about Chinese Names?
中文姓名zhōng wén xìng míng
Chinese names have two parts: a 姓 xìng (surname) and a 名 míng (given name).
In a Chinese name, the surname precedes the given name.
In general, the surname is inherited from the father.

Chinese surnames are usually referred to as the 百家姓 bǎi jīa xìng (hundreds of family surnames), which is the name of a famous listing of Chinese surnames.
Most Chinese surnames are monosyllabic, such as 赵Zhào, 钱Qían, 孙 Sūn, 李 Lǐ, which happen to be the first four surnames on the list.
A few names are disyllabic (having two syllables), the most common being 欧阳 Ōuyáng and 司马 Sīmǎ.

A child’s given name is significant and meaningful.
It is generally chosen by the parents and usually has one or two characters.
Naming a child generally involves two important considerations.
First, the given names that the parents choose usually reflect the parents’ hopes for their child.
Parents always hope to have a virtuous child who becomes successful and achieves great things.
Common Themes in Name

Siblings sometimes have similar or identical elements in their given names. The shared elements can be either the first or the second character of a two-character given name.

In order to help the child have a prosperous and lucky future, parents, especially those in Taiwan, usually also consult with a fortuneteller.
The fortuneteller will match the name with the child’s birthday and provide advice.
China has one of the largest population in the world.
There are around 1.3 billion people in mainland China. As a result, it is very common to have the same given name and surname as someone else.
