Materials for each student:

  • 2 craft sticks
  • 1 pencil
  • 2 rubber bands
  • 1 coffee filter (or something to hold pom-pom balls)
  • handful of pom-pom balls (about 20)
  • ruler

Materials for class/group:

  • 1-minute timer

The challenge: Create training chopsticks to complete 12 challenges. Students may only touch the dumplings (pom-poms) with their chopsticks. They'll have one minute to complete each challenge. They may only use one hand on their chopsticks unless otherwise noted. Students will be successful if they can complete the challenge in one minute or less.
