This is a companion activity to teaching students about Chinese New Year / Lunar New Year.
It includes a brief introduction about the popular Chinese word “Fú,” which means “good luck,” and is followed by an activity where students can make their own good luck banner to display in their own home by coloring in a preprinted Chinese word.
2 additional banners are also included for coloring: "Happy New Year" and "Wishing you great happiness and prosperity" that can be printed on 8.5x11 or 8.5x14 (banners should be printed on red paper).
There is also an optional 5 question comprehension review quiz for students to take. Answer key included.
This unit will update every year. If you've purchased this unit are planning to do the comprehension quiz, please come back yearly to download a new file containing the correct date and zodiac animal sign.
Note: Chinese New Year is Saturday, January 28, 2017. It is the Year of the Rooster.
